As we come to a close on this years summer semester I think about the work we have all done and how much we have all learned. I took 2 classes this summer session and although I have learned a ton I am excited to finish things up.
This session I took the technology class that we are all taking which really opened my eyes to the world and possiblities with technology in education. I also took 6560 which looked at the businsess side of education and how to work with outside community members.
What do you all think of your classes so far that you have taken. What have you enjoyed the most?
This summer I took three classes. I took the technology class, Finance 6500 and Law 6740. I cannot believe how fast the time has gone and how much I learned. It has been interesting to see the money side of schools as well as the law side. I have really enjoyed collaborating with others from all over the state. I enjoy hearing what others have to say on discussions and topics.
ReplyDeleteI am constantly surprised at the amount of information I learn from each class I take at SUU. This has been a full summer for me even with two classes. I have 6540 Educational Governance as well as this one. It covers the politics surrounding education. I am anxious to take the law and finance classes as well. I have enjoyed the technology class immensely and love to see how teachers use it in the classroom. It has been quite a transition for me to look at this class from an administrator's perspective and how I would lead my faculty into technology opportunities in the classroom. I find the amount of data available very interesting as well and the many ways it can be used to demonstrate success or failure of a school.
ReplyDeleteWow, you have all been very busy this summer with school. I am impressed with everyones course load. I don't think that I will love taking the Finance class, but I am sure that it will be one of the most valuable classes that I will take. Being able to balance the money and use it in all areas that will best benefit the whole school is going to be a challenge. Any prior knowledge on how this might all go down will be very valuable. Alesha, I also agree with you that this technology class has really been a challenge for me to look at from the administrative side. I look forward to finding ways to implement it.
ReplyDeleteThis summer has flown by. I am taking three classes. I won't do that again. I know that some are taking four! They are my heroes. Classes have been ok, but what is up with the same questions on the AAA assignments? If I have to figure out how everything in this universe benefits diverse student populations, I'm gonna go nuts!!! Some things, especially in this class are going to be really productive and useful. Enjoy your August. See you (wimba maybe?) next semester

I am exhausted from my two classes. the 6036 one we are all blogging about and the 6540 role of an administrator. it's been hectic but insightful. and i just love all the different blog sites i've been to in getting this blogging assignment completed. great job ladies. thanks for visiting my blog site (last minute blog site since my UEN blog corner was not functioning). this gave me an opportunity to visit and see what's happening in your neck of the wood.
ReplyDeleteLoved and totally agree with Steve's comment on answering the same questions each time. It has really made me stretch my creative side to answer those questions in unique ways. Great classes and I've been so impressed with all the SUU staff and instructors.
