Pioneer Day is one of my favorite holidays. I love the parade, the time with family, and the fireworks. It always makes me feel so patriotic and thankful. There are so many people who have helped to pave the way for me to enjoy all the freedoms that I enjoy each day.

Pioneer Day is a great holiday. I also really enjoy the 4th of July because it also reminds me of the freedoms we enjoy as a country.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't until recently that I started to enjoy Memorial Day. Memorial Day is great, number one, because it means school is out. Number two, my wife and I have had grandparents and friends pass in the recent years. Since then, we have really enjoyed visiting their gravesites and placing flowers on their headstones. We love to think about them and remember good times. It's very relaxing and spiritual.

I am glad that you picked Memorial Day as one of your favorite holidays. I also love it since it means that school is out. We always go to Zions for Memorial Day with my husbands family. It has become quite the tradition. I also love taking one day out of our busy lives to remember friends and family who are no longer with us. I remember as a little girl going with my grandma on Memorial Day and placing flowers on gravestones. I always thought that it was such a special thing, even though at my young age, I don't think that I truly understood what the day meant. Thanks for your post!!
ReplyDeleteHa ha. Pioneer Day was even more special this year because of the new firework law in Utah. You didn't need to go to any park shows, there was one in your backyard every night!
