  1. You making me think back to high school? That was so long ago...

As an assignment I enjoyed Huck Finn by Mark Twain. Imagining rafting down the river, never wearing shoes, keeping ahead of the law and anyone else out to hurt me.. I just wanted to be in that book.

For pleasure reading in high school, anything by Stephen King. His style of writing has always been one of my favorites. His unique and often morbid look at life was something that just hooked me right from the beginning.

  2. I was never much of a reader in high school, but have recently gotten into it much more. So here are my favorites post high school:

    1. Into Thin Air - This one engaged me from start to finish. I finished it in two days and lost sleep by having to see what happened next.

    2. City of Bones - This one has a special place for me because it is the first book by Michael Connelly I read. Since then, I have gone on to read every book he wrote.

    3. A Million Little Pieces - Though this was eventually shown as a fraud of a memoir, it was a great read and very interesting story.

Like the post and good thought provoking topic.

  6. I love all the books mentioned above! I just read The Paris Wife which was about Hadley Hemingway-his first wife. Very interesting and made me want to reread all of Hemingway's novels as well as Moveable Feast, which was his memoir.Zelda, F.Scott Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein were all there, interacting with the Hemingways in Europe. Quite a fascinating read indeed! :)

  7. Thank you to everyone for your book reviews. This is something that I always ask my students to do. I want to know what they have been reading, or what they like to read, so that if they don't know, then we can figure it out together. Reading is the gateway to all things in life!!
